Mother of the groom wants to waer her dress from her second wedding. It looks like a wedding dress - early 90's vintage ivory. She is having the beading taken off. The wedding is 3 weeks away. Please help me convince her this is NOT the dress she shoud wear to her son's wedding.

If the dress looks at all like a wedding dress she really shouldn't wear it. Even if she removes the beading, which is for evening wear only, the ivory color may not be the best choice. The MOG should be coordinating her dress color and style with the mother of the bride.
Have you asked your groom to speak to his mother? Maybe he can impress on her the importance of appearing properly in the wedding as MOG, rather than second time bride. maybe he can remind her that your bride would like to be center of attention? I'm sure her son can find a nice way to convince mom to choose another dress and make the bride and groom happy. I am sorry I should have given you more information. The MOB will not be attending the wedding, a lifelong family friend is standing in for her. The groom has tried to convince his mother not to wear the dress, as have others. Yesterday, at one of the bridal showers we were informed that MOG is still planning to wear the wedding dress anyway. I am hoping that if I can show her here in your forum we can still save her the embarassment of wearing it.

I agree. This most likely will be very embarrassing for her and for all of you. There are silly "reality" shows about behavior like this. I'm sure she wouldn't want to be thought of in that light.
