     MOG wearing inappropriate dress

My fiance's mother sent me an email of the dress she wants to wear to our formal church wedding. It is not only backless and halter, but it is a teenager's prom dress. It honestly looks exactly like the prom dress that I wore with my fiance in high school! I don't know what to tell her. Should I just let her make a fool of herself and look trashy at our wedding or tell her how I feel? I've already mentioned that I am having all of my wedding party, including me, cover up their shoulders for the church, but I really don't think she will. Please help me out!

Dear Kmel,

Perhaps you could tell her that you have been reading about proper etiquette so you don't commit any social faux pas and found that mothers do not wear revealing dresses. She should be wearing something that coordinates with your mother and not more formal. It should be very conservative as well. If it sounds like you are trying to help her, it may make more of an impression.

Best wishes,

In another post you told us you were already married and having a convalidation ceremony, not a formal church ceremony.
