My future daughter in law would like to pick out the mothers dresses and she wants the dresses to be the same. I do not want to dress like a bridesmaid....

Dear Mother of the Groom,
The bride should not select matching dresses for the mothers, they should coordinate with each other but not match. Also the mothers should not be in the same style or color as the bridesmaids. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

Dear MOG,
No. I don't blame you. That is not a good idea. I think she is a bit confused about this. Perhaps you and her mother could get together and provide a united front to just say, "No".

Dear Buckeyes:
Looks like we are all in agreement here. The Mother of the Bride sets the tone for the dress and coordinates with the MOG. The Bride does not make the attire decisions in this instance and neither Mother should be dressed like a Bridesmaid. Rhonda Allen, Bridal Consultant New Beginnings Weddings
