Mother of the Groom dress for outdoor wedding

My son and his girl are planning an outdoor wedding in her family backyard. They are planning an informal wedding. Can I wear a light blue pantsuit? It's dressed up because of a V shape cutout in the back, not trashy. I thought maybe silver shoes and bag would dress it up a bit more.

Dear Dmulcahy,

As mother of the groom you are supposed to coordinate with the mother of the bride, not dressing more formally than her. So, it would be best to discuss this with her.

Best wishes,

Please be sure to review past posts before posting new. We have many, many posts explaining the role of the MOG in dress selection.

Thanks.
