Mother of the bride dress color

The bridesmaids' dresses in my daughter's wedding are celedon green in a satin texture. I recently found a beautiful mother of the bride dress. However, it is a slightly lighter shade of celedon green and is a dull texture. The dress is plain on the bottom with a glittered designed bodice and jacket. Is ii okay to wear the same colored dress as the bridesmaids, even if it is slightly lighter in color? What would be the best color to wear with the celedon green? What color should the mother of the groom wear? Help please.

Since your dress has a slightly different texture, color and has beading on it you won't look like part of the party. I think that it would compliment the girls and still look fancier since you are the mother. Talk to your daughter and just run it by her if your really concerned.

Colors that compliment celadon green are.

Pale Pink, Platinum, Lavender, Champagne, Pale Yellow, Emerald Green and Black.

Dear Mother of the bride,

The mothers choose dresses that complement each other and the bridesmaids. Formality, style and length should match the bridesmaid's dresses. The colors should blend, not match the bridesmaid's dresses. The MOG's dress may be the same color, but not exactly the same dress. It is best that if your dress is a solid, hers could have a pattern.

I agree that you should check with your daughter. The color may be too close, but you never know until you get the two together. And, your daughter has the last word.
