     Mother of the groom dress

My son is getting married on June 11. The bride's dress is ivory, the bridesmaids are sage green and the MOH is a light plum/lavender. The men are wearing black tuxes. The MOB is wearing black. What colors would compliment these colors? I am leaning toward a pale silver or "cement" color? Would this be too washed out? I was advised to stay away from the green and plum. What style would NOT be appropriate (off the shoulder, etc) since the dress will be worn for both the Catholic ceremony at 2 p.m. and the reception in the evening? Thank you so much. Smile

A pretty pale silver or cement would be just fine. It compliments the pale green and lavender of the party.

With your hair and make-up done and beautiful jewelry you won't look washed out at all.

Maybe you can wear asparkly crystal necklace or a long earring. The crystals will bring color to your face and make your skin glow.

Thank you so much, I will get some sparkling jewelry. What other colors would compliment sage green and lavender? I am still not sure, however, about an off-the-shoulder dress for the church. Is that appropriate? Do I need to wear a wrap? Thanks, again.

An off the shoulder dress is fine for the church and still fun and elegant for the reception. A wrap would be perfect for both the church and reception, because in the church you can be a little more covered up and then as the evening comes around the wrap can keep you warm since it cools down at night. I suggest going with a wrap that has a little glitz and sparkle so that it will match your accessories, and brighten up your face.
