Mother of the groom dress color

Wedding is in October. The bride is wearing part ivory/part white wedding dress. Only one attendant is wearing off the shoulder, floor length red gown. MOB wearing sleeveless floor length champagne dress. I am mother of the groom. I have very light skin, brown hair with highlights, 5'2". My best colors are "Summer" colors as in "Color Me Beautiful" colors. Any suggestions for color of dress and shoes for me. The bride said she doesn't care. Thank you for your help!

Congratulations on your son's wedding! I am looking at "Cool Summer" colors for Brown hair in "Color me Beautiful", and the best that would go with other colors in the wedding (Champagne and Red) are: Cocoa, Rose Brown, Rose Beige. Same colors are good for "Soft Summer", as you can see from the book. As a color consultant I can assure you these colors will compliment your skin tone, your hair color, and go wonderfully with the other colors in the wedding. Enjoy!

Just please stay away from any color that appears to be red. This is the only taboo color for the wedding these days, except for the bride and her attendants.
