Help! My son is getting married at 7:30 p.m. in an outdoor ceremony held at the bride's parent's home. He stated they want a very informal affair and there will be less than 100 attending. The comment was: You know - like a beach wedding, but in the back yard. The women can wear sundresses.... The time would seem to dictate a more formal affair however. The colors are "jewel tones" with my son's favorite shade of blue being featured here and there. My question - while waiting for the bride's mother to decide, what type of attire should I be looking at? Slevelees cocktail type dress? Short sleeves? knee length? tea length? long? Dressy pant suit? Or do I totally need to wait for the MOB to even start looking? Any help is appreciated!!

Dear MOG,
You would wait for the MOB to choose. You probably already have the outfit in your closet. Most probably, the attire for the mothers will be 'dressy casual' which is basically the clothes that you would wear to a nice restaurant.
