Mother of the groom wearing full length dress, mother of the bride knee length.
I'm MOG and purchased a floor length dress months ago for a June/noon wedding. I thought MOB was wearing floor length but found out she is getting a shorter one. Should I return mine and get a shorter one? What about grandmoms? One is wearing short, one won't even consider anything but floor length. It is an outside wedding. Is is just tacky to wear floor length? HELP!

Dear MOG,
While the length of your dress dictates some of the level of formality, it isn't the only element. As long as your dress doesn't seem more formal than the MOB's dress you are fine.
The grandmothers don't have to dress as formal as the mothers. But, could dress a bit more formal than the remainder of the guests.
