     Proper color for MOB

Help...my daughter is getting married in April, early evening. Her bridesmaids are using Teal Blue that is more towards blue. It's a mermaid style skirt and w/strapless tops. Flowers are a combination of fire colors. I want to use a long red dress, off the shoulder but I'm not sure if it's going to clash. Please advise...thank you.

Dear Confused MOB,

Red is definitely a no-no unless the bride is wearing red. Red draws the eye away from the bride--very powerful color. Plus, it does not blend with the teal blue. Your dress color should blend.

Matching your dress to the 'fire' colors, other than red, may not work because you could appear to be wearing fall colors. But, of course you could try a few colors out. Find something the same shade as the bridesmaids' dresses and compare those colors to the dresses you are interested in wearing.

However, silver would blend well or perhaps a pattern with some blues in it.

Best wishes,
