     Step-mother of the Groom attire

The wedding colors are cream and black. The mother of the bride has not shared the complimentary color or length of her dress. I am the step-mother of the groom, and I have shopped and shopped, and I have not seen a long or tea-length dress that I am satified with. Do I have to wear a long length dress or can I wear a complimentary colored suit? My husband the father of the groom will be wearing a tuxedo. Please let me know soon, the wedding will happen in August.

Dear Step-mother,

Yes, you may wear a nice pants suit if it is formal looking in nature--very high quality. This may be difficult. Hopefully you will gain some guidence from the MOB soon. It sounds as if you all ready know that you are to dress in attire complimentary in color and formality to the MOB. If you do not hear from her, just go with the suit.

Best wishes.
