Stepmother of Bride - what color dress to wear& style
Hi
My stepdaughter's wedding is in early August. Her colors are burgundy for the bridesmates I found a few dresses but not sure if they are acceptiable. I was looking at ivory (the bride is wearing white) but it is spaghetti straps and long and has embroidery on the front and the others are black with pink or burgundy flowers embroidered. One is tea length and the other is long. I also found a dress that is just about the same color as the bridesmaids. Which colors would be appropriate? Thanks

Unless being treated as one of the mothers, stepmothers usually dress as a guest. You would never want to match the bridesmaids. The ivory color could be appropriate as long as it doesn't look anything like a wedding dress. Spaghetti straps may be okay as long as the dress is not too revealing.
