I will be pouring Champagne for my boyfriend's daughter's wedding this September. What would the dress code for me be since I will be pouring the Champagne for the afternoon reception toast?

Dear Pouring Champagne,
It is difficult to say. This event could be more formal than most afternoon events. You will need to ask what the dress code is. More than likely though, you should be fine if you wear an outfit that you would wear to a nice restaurant.

I would suggest dressing in an elegant manner suitable for the wedding's overall dress code. See that your outfit does not clash with the linens used at the reception tables. I would also make sure that any jacket you wear is buttoned when you pour the champagne - so that your outfit does not bump up against the champagne glasses. Loose sleeves may be a problem also for the same reason. Sandy Riffman

You will need to check to see what the bridesmaids are wearing. You should then match the length of your dress to theirs, and you should find a color that coordinates with their dresses so that if you are included in the family pictures you will look as if you belong. Jodi R R Smith
