What color dress for MOG with royal blue bridesmaid dresses?

Hi All,

I'm new to this site, wish I had seen it for my daughter's wedding!

Anyway, my son and fiance' are having a June wedding. The bridesmaids will be wearing royal blue dresses, and carrying purple, blue, and lavender toned flowers. What color should I be thinking about wearing? I think I look good in navy blue, but the bride feels that color may clash, and I kind of agree with her.

I am very short, 5ft, and wear a size 16. I don't feel I look good in pastels. I just wore a mulberry (looked closer to eggplant to me) colored dress for my daughter's wedding in June. She had sage colored bridesmaid dresses.

Hi Happymog,

I actually think Navy blue will work if it is a really deep color (people call a range of colors "Navy").
In fact, many of our brides use different shades of a certain color for different bridesmaids.

You may also want to consider Charcoal, Silver, Taupe or Champagne. That said it is important to pick a color that works well for you also.
