What color dress for mother of the groom

Our son is getting married in February. The bride is wearing white, the bridesmaids will be wearing a pastel blue with silver accents. The mother of the bride will be wearing a darker blue formal gown. I have found a tea length gown that has a sheer jacket available in several colors. Do I need to follow suit with a darker color or can I wear a pastel? Lavender, pink or even an off white? The MOB has skin coloring that works well with vibrant colors, I tend to need softer shades.

Congratulations on your son's wedding! It is recommended that Mother of the Groom dress should be the same formality as Mother of the Bride's. With the wedding colors, you can go for Lavender, Silver tones, Powder Blue or, in fact, any shade of blue that compliments your skin tones. Muted Pinks would also work as well. Enjoy the wedding!
