What colour for the mother of the bride?

My daughter is getting married and her colours are pink and black. the bridesmaid dresses are light pink with black long bow in front. Maid of honour will be same pink diffrent style. The MOG would like to wear red and my favorite colour is dark wine colour. I am no good with fashion lol. Man this will be torture.

Can you make any suggestions for colour for mother of the bride to wear? I am a heavy set woman so I prefer dark colours.

The flowers of the wedding party will be white, dark pink, and light pink if that helps you help me.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Nicole

Dear Nicole,

The mother of the groom should wait for you to choose your dress first and coordinate with you. Plus, unless the bride wishes for the mothers to wear red, it should be avoided. All eyes will be on the bold color--bad idea. So, she should not wear this color.

Your wine color would be all right, because it isn't as bold. But, black would also be appropriate since it is your daughter's accent color and it blends.

Best wishes,
