I'm so torn about what to wear to my daughter's wedding in Santa Fe. I am the MOB. The wedding is being held on the portal of the MOG's home. They are paying for most of the wedding since this is the 2nd wedding for our daughter. The are from money...we are not. Mother of the groom thinks we should wear long silk broomstick skirts with a nice top or jacket. The bridesmaids are wearing a pretty santa fe, blue, tea length dress. It is a very small wedding with only 2 groomsmen and 2 bridesmaids. No tuxedos, just suits for the guys. I'm thinking we should wear tea length dresses but not formal. Also help on the color. Mother of the groom is thinking we should dress alike in the skirts, but different tops.
Thanks,

Dear Maddox,
It is best to choose something in the same formality as the bridesmaids. Just about anything blends with blue. Yellow comes to mind. Just stay away from red.
You two shouldn't be dressed so similarly. You could appear as bridesmaids.

Thanks a lot. The MOG just seems to think the long skirts would look better since it is a laid back Santa Fe outdoor wedding. But, I'm like you, we need to blend with the style of the bridesmaids. They are wearing tea length chiffon skirts with strapless satin tops. I know I have the first pick, but then again, she is paying for the wedding so I feel she has some say. I'm going to continue looking and hopefully the perfect dress will appear before my eyes. I think I will know it when I see it. Yellow is a good color for me too. Tthanks again.
