     What should Mom wear?

Im planning to have a formal indoor wedding.... Not to say anything against my mom, but she doesnt have the best taste in clothes. I want her to look beautiful as the mother of the bride, as she will be in the spotlight as well. . We have agreed to buy her dress together... Please give me advice as to what we should look for.. I definately want it to be floor length... should she have a little jacket???? chest covered? what is traditional?

Dear Melanie,

Your mom's dress should compliment the bridesmaid's dresses in color and formality--not the same, but compliment. A jacket would be very sharp and appropriate for a formal wedding. Her chest should be covered. Basically, choose a dress in formality and color that suits her age and comfort level. If she looks good and feels good in it... go for it.

Best wishes,
