I am the mother of the groom. The bridesmaids are wearing "expresso" brown tea-length dresses. The colors of the wedding are brown and light blue, period. The MOB has chosen to wear an ankle length, light blue dress, and the bride is OK with that. I know that I need to compliment the MOB with a long dress, but what color? I look jaundiced in gold. The wedding is in August.

Go for either chocolate brown with nice beading or for a darker shade of blue (there are many!). This way, you will stand out while being coordinated with the rest of the bridal party. Enjoy the wedding! Irina Feygin, IMpeccable iMage, Inc. Image and Beauty and For Princess Bride

Dear Audreyvi,
I'm not the fashion expert, so I can't comment so much on the color. But, it seems that you could wear any color that blends with blue and brown, even darker blue. MOB really shouldn't wear the same color as the bridesmaids anyway.
You can wear tea length as well as ankle length. That is fine.
