My daughter is getting married August 6, 2005 in a morning wedding. The bridesmaids are wearing tea length fucshia dresses. I have searched high and low for a dress and finally found one that I love. It is tea length, sleeveless, tight at the waist and then flowing. It has beaded netting that is over the whole dress and extends several inches below the dress. It is dressy and pretty, but it is BLACK. My daughter and her fiance are fine with black, but I would like to make sure it is appropriate. Thanks!

Re: [micky] black mother of the bride dress

Dear MOB,
Not sure if the black will look good with the fucshia. Your dress is supposed to compliment the bridesmaid's dresses. We now wear black most times of the day also, but I'm not sure about a morning wedding. It may appear too dark. This is a personal choice.
The best way to make this decision is to compare your dress with the bridesmaid's dresses and see if it compliments them.
