black mother of the groom dress

My future mother in law is wearing black to the wedding. We are having a very traditional wedding and I was woundering if black is appropriate. It bother's me but I have been told I have no choice is it appropriate for to me to mention it bothers me.

Dear Bride,

The MOG is supposed to coordinate her outfit with the MOB. She chooses first and informs the MOG of her outfit. If there is no MOB, you are the boss. So, you do have some say in this.

Black is quite common these days though. It is considered appropriate. But, you should be comfortable with all attire choices.

Best wishes,
