bridesmaids in all black-what to MOB/MOG wear?

Wedding is last Saturday in September, my dress is white, my bridesmaids are wearing very simple black tea length dresses with a very tiny baby blue ribbon under the bust line and both MOB and MOG want to wear black. They are both a size 16-18 and feel big in any other color. MOG said she wanted to wear a RED dress then because black and red are her favorite colors. I don't want pictures looking bad but don't want people to think they don't want us to get married if they show up in black. Not sure what other color to say is ok. Any suggestions? And is black ok for them to wear if the bridesmaids dresses are black?

Dear Amysinger,

Black is really the only color that is usually worn by all. Many brides want the continuity of color when black is worn by the bridesmaids. It doesn't symbolize negativity any more.

Red is not an appropriate color though.

Best wishes,
