colors for mother of the groom dress

We are having a small informal wedding; I am wearing white and my maid of honor is wearing black. The groom and his best man are wearing black suits and we are not having any additional attendants. My mom is wearing royal blue; would this complement my maid of honor's black dress? What would be a good color for the mother of the groom dress? Thanks!

Dear Colors,

It used to be thought that black and blue do not go together. But, we don't find that true today. The dark blue should be just fine, especially since this is an informal setting. The MOG could wear something with the same color in it, but in a pattern. Or, she could wear a blue dress that is just a different shade as long as it compliments the MOB.

It would be easier if everyone wore black, huh? Wink

Best wishes,
