mog dress color not sure about wedding is in a week

My sons wedding is next weekend and I have been looking for a dress for over a month now. Wedding was planned in the last 4 months. Had to wait on mob before could start looking for mine. mob chose a fushia rose satin dress with black velvet high waist thin belt tea length. mob is a thin petite lady in 50's. I am a plus size women in 40's. It has been hard to find the right thing in my size. I just found dress this weekend. It is a beautiful royal blue. Is this okay for me with the mob wearing fushia?? I was looking for something in purple color tones or plum. The wedding is in black and white at 2 in afternoon. Only other accent color is black magic roses. Bridesmaids are in black tea length

Royal blue would be perfectly fine; so would be black and plum colors. Enjoy the wedding!

I agree. Please make sure that your dress is not more formal than the mother of the bride though.
