I know the MOB/MOG dresses should follow formality/feel of the bridesmaid dresses, but is it against the rules for the MOB to wear a longer dress if the bridesmaids are wearing cocktail length? I think my Mother would be more comfortable in floor length. Thank you!

Dear Floyd,
As long as the dress isn't more formal than the MOB or the bridesmaids' dresses then it is fine. Length is only one part of the equation. And, please remember that the MOB chooses her outfit first.
