     mother of the groom dress

My step-son is getting married the end of April in the afternoon. MOB is wearing long dress, step-mother of bride is also. MOG is wearing long dress - my dress is tea-length. Bride loves my dress and says the length is great. Am I really OK?

Dear Worried,

Yes, you are fine. A step mother is not typically considered as one of the mothers unless she raised the child. She usually dresses as one of the guests. However, if you are being seated as one of the mothers, you may want to wear a dress that is in the same formality as the mother's dresses.

Best wishes,
