proper attire, mother of the groom

My son's wedding is at 7:00p.m. outdoors at an old plantation in the south. The brides mother is wearing pink, the bridesmaids will ear powder blue and the groomsmen iare wearing black tux's w/platinum vest. I have blonde hair and look absolutely hideous in pastels. Would it be inappropriate for me to wear a dark color since it is a 7:00p.m. wedding. My future daughter in law assures me she has no issue with it, however, I am concerned the mother of the bride may. Thank you

If pastels don't work for you. The Groomsman are wearing Black/ Silver so try to stick to those colors.

Try on dresses at that are platinum, black, or charcoal grey.
