     stepmother of the groom dress

My stepson is going to be married in June. His mother is going to wear a cream colored dress, I do not know which length. The MOB has not picked out her dress yet,but it will be full length. The MOB wants me to dress as part of the family, my husband and I are contributing a good amount of money to the wedding. My ? is ,if I wear a full length dress and the MOG's dress is short ,will this be in bad taste. What should I do?

Dear Stepmother,

It probably would be in bad taste, especially if it were more formal. You wouldn't want to dress more formally than her. I would ask the MOB or your stepson to find out the length of the dress. If you can't find out, then you will be coordinating with the MOB since she wants you dressed as one of the mothers.

Best wishes,
