tradition where the grandmothers of bride and groom all wear gold dresses
Now, My wedding is a long way off but we're already dealing with things such as what people wear. I hear that MOB and MOG both coordinate with the bridesmaids.
Here's the real question. There seems to be a tradition where the grandmothers of bride and groom all wear gold dresses. Has anyone heard of this tradition before or could it possibly just be a family tradition on his side of the family, because I heard it from my intended?
-Curious and confused.

That is not a tradition I have ever heard of. The mothers would wear something that coordinates with each other and compliments the bridal party. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com and http://www.coordinatorscorner.com

Never heard of this tradition, ever. The grandmothers should wear outfits they would be comfortable with, and color-coordinated with the rest of the bridal party. "Color coordinated" does not mean "matching": simply suggesting that colors would not clash. Enjoy the wedding! Irina Feygin, IMpeccable iMage, Inc. Image and Beauty and For Princess Bride

I'm chiming in with the same opinion. I've never heard of this before. It is interesting though. Gold?? Interesting. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
