what do you do when mother of groom buys an ivory dress?
Hi,
I dont want to be a "bridezilla" but i am a bit upset that the groom's mother has bought an Ivory and Gold dress. I had told her my dress is ivory and silver.
I believe she intended to match my fiancee (because he is wearing an ivory vest and tie to match me).
Is the groom's mother supposed to match the groom anyway??

The groom's mother is supposed to coordinate her outfit with the mother of the bride. She also has to make sure that her color would coordinate with the colors of the bridal party. As far as etiquette goes, only the bride and flower girls are supposed to wear light-color dresses (white, diamond white, ivory etc). You don't want to upset the mother of the groom though, since she has already bought her light-color dress (which is a highly unusual choice). You might want to suggest (in a nice way) that she will look much better in another color, and suggest a color that is highly becoming and will really suit her well. But you can only do it her current dress is returnable or can be exchanged. Good luck and enjoy the wedding! Irina Feygin, IMpeccable iMage, Inc. Image and Beauty and For Princess Bride

Yes, it is best that your fiance speaks to his mother about this. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
