why are mob dresses so "old" looking

I have been searching for the right MOB dress for a few months now. I am not comfortable in the beaded jacket with long skirt look that I see everywhere. Is it just me, or are there very few choices out there?

I cannot speak to all styles of dress for the MOB but perhaps one of the reasons the styles are the way they are is in an attempt to display mothers' attire as matronly.

As for the choices, actually you really do have a lot of them between length, color and style of the dress. Of course, the type of dress you buy will need to be guided by the time of day of the wedding, location, and formality.

Congratulations on your daughter's wedding! Try to search on the Internet for designer collections such as Montage, Mon Cheri and Jovani. They have excellent fashions for MOB's, conservative enough but very elegant and stylish. You can actually preview what they have through a NY City-based salon, RK Bridal. Write down the style ##s that you like and then call around your local bridal salons and find out if they carry these particular styles or have them available. That's the easiest way to find the dress without even leaving your house!

Enjoy the wedding!
