16th September wedding 3pm - what to wear?!

I am 21 years old and going to my first ever wedding on 16th September (in England). It is at 3pm in a small church and there is a reception afterwards at a hall / club that you can rent out for various occassions, including weddings. I mention this as I don't think it will be amazingly formal, but still quite traditional.

I am a student, so my budget is quite low. I can't really spend more than thirty pounds on a dress. I also need something which I can wear again, and find that I am having trouble finding something suitable for my age!

I have found a dress that I really like (i have attached a pic, and the webpage ref at the bottom lets you see a video of it). Please tell me what you think of this!

I am also not sure what shoes to wear. I am rubbish with heels, so the most I could cope with would be kitten heels. So any advice on what kind of shoes would be appropriate and what colour shoes/bag would go best with this dress would be really appreciated!!

Thank you very much!

Dear Kitten Heels,

I can't see the dress, but one that looks as if it is a cocktail dress would be perfect. Kitten heels are fine. Choose shoes and purse that blend rather than match.

No red! Red is taboo because it is a very strong color. Also, cover bare shoulders for the wedding.

Try thrift stores for a dress. I live in a college town and there are plenty of gorgeous dresses for very little money.

Best wishes,
