Firstly, to all the experts here @ TWQ, thank you very much for your wonderful advice. My wedding went off without a hitch on 7/14/06, and I must say I owe all of the etiquette fine points to you all .
Now, down to the real business. I'm attending a Friday afternoon (3:30), mid-October wedding, held at a sort of arboretum/exotic animal ranch in Southern California. Weather should be very pretty, wedding held outside in a courtyard area. The reception is not slated to start until 5:30-6PM, but that will not give me enough time to change outfits. I had 2 dresses in mind (attached). I was also wondering could I do a pants suit/dressy blouse combo instead of a dress since it is an afternoon, weekday wedding? Thanks again TWQ, looking forward to hearing from you.

Dear EmpressT,
Welcome back! I'm so glad your wedding was perfect!
This wedding sounds like it will be memorable.
The second dress is probably the best choice of the two as long as it isn't red. Red is the only taboo color, due to its eye drawing power. A pant suit is fine as well and would probably be my first choice.
