4:30 Wedding guest attire

What's appropriate to wear to a 4:30 church wedding? Will a simple, black cocktail dress (hitting just below the knee) work?

It will work if it is conservative or if you wear a cover-up. Church weddings should be non-skin baring.

Your dress sounds perfect for the wedding. You can keep your look classic by adding crystal accessories. Or you can be more festive and add some color. You can wear colored crystal accessories and/or a colored scarf or shawl. Don't forget...a matching handbag will complete your look.
