Appropriate wedding guest attire for an evening wedding

I am attending my boyfriend's best friend's wedding. They are very laid back, and low key. However, this is an evening wedding. I dress a little off kilter, not the traditional pretty girl floral. I have attached a picture of the dress I was thinking of wearing. Please let me know if this is appropriate because I dont want to embarass anyone.

Thank you

Dear Wedding Guest,

It is difficult to know if this would be appropriate due to the fact that I don't know how formal this event will be. If it is semi-formal, you could wear this style. But, the dress is red or nearly red. Red is the one color we don't wear to weddings. It is a powerful color that draws the eye. So, out of respect for the couple we just say no to red.

If these are laid back people, you may want to wear something a bit less formal. A simpler cocktail type dress would probably be your best bet because it is more versatile. It bridges the gap between semi-formal and elegant casual.

Best wishes,
