My boyfriend and I will be attending a wedding for his family friends on a military base this weekend (mid-March) at 3:30pm in the Marine Memorial Chapel on base, followed by Cocktail Hour and reception at the nearby Officers Club (also on the base) from 5-10pm. The invite does not indicate a dress code, but my boyfriend is concerned it will be more formal because of the location and the groom in uniform. Do you have any suggestions for us regarding our dress? Cocktail or semi-formal? Nice restaurant? Will we need to change between the church and the reception?
Thank you so much!!

Dear Military Wedding Guest,
It will probably be more formal and conservative. So, conservative cocktail/semi-formal would probably be best. This is a suit for men and a nice dress for you. This is also very close to what you would wear to a very nice restaurant.

Dear Aml2004,
May I add that it is very necessary to be on time. This means allow time for the security search which will take place at the gate. Allow at least another 1/2 hour for this process. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
