Attire for Grandmother of the groom

My son will be married the last of April at 6pm at a old southern mansion, outside. Would it be appropriate for the grandmother of the groom to wear a dressy pant outfit?

Dear MOG,

Sure. Some of today's pant suits are fabulous. Plus, she doesn't have to dress as formally as you.

Best wishes,
