Questionable

     Black dress at 2:00

I have a little black chiffon material, halter style , like the Marilyn Monroe style with alittle sliver sequins, not too over powering. Is it appropriate to wear at a 2:00pm church wedding. The reception is at 6:00. Should I wear something else to the wedding and go home to change for the reception?

Dear Questionable,

The dress is too revealing and formal for the wedding. Sequins are not worn during the day. Plus, bare shoulders are not polite in church. So, if you had a jacket for the dress it would work for the wedding. Black is not the issue; it is fine.

If the wedding and reception are more formal in nature, the dress would be fine for the reception.

Best wishes,
