Faux pas for a guest to wear white to a wedding?

I am attending my husband's younger brothers wedding on May 13 in Wisconsin. My husband is the best man in the wedding. The ceremony is in a park at 1pm and they have told me it's only going to be a 15 minute ceremony. I bought a white linen pantsuit to wear. I also bought a bright teal shirt for under the blazer and some tan and blue beaded shoes. I then suddenly wondered if it would be improper to wear white to a wedding. I asked my mom and a couple of friends and they initially said no to white, they changed their minds when I told them I was going to introduce bright colors with it, they said it would be okay.

There are a lot of my husband's family I will be meeting for the first time and I don't want to make a bad impression. I would appreciate any help! Thanks

Dear White to a Wedding,

Wear the white. It is no longer thought of as a faux pas. If the outfit appeared to be a wedding gown, then it would be different.

Red is the only no-no these days because it is a powerful color that draws the eyes.

Best wishes,
