Guests Attire for Summer Wedding in Bahamas

Bride-to-be said that the guests need to wear "island formal". She is planning a summer wedding in Bahamas. What does my husband need to wear?

Dear Ksnac,

I'm not exactly sure what "island formal" would be but I'm guessing that hubby should wear a suit and tie at the very least.

If you know the name of the hotel where the wedding will be, you could call or email someone there to find out.

Cheers!

I completely agree with Nancy and Rhonda. I often call.

Typically when someone attaches a modifier to a common dress code name, it simply means that it is that dress code with a twist. So, it is possibly formal attire in an island style--lighter fabrics and colorful.

A great example of this is 'Texas Formal'. This could mean a tux with boots.
