Bride-to-be said that the guests need to wear "island formal". She is planning a summer wedding in Bahamas. What does my husband need to wear?

Dear Ksnac,
I'm not exactly sure what "island formal" would be but I'm guessing that hubby should wear a suit and tie at the very least. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

If you know the name of the hotel where the wedding will be, you could call or email someone there to find out.

I completely agree with Nancy and Rhonda. I often call.
Typically when someone attaches a modifier to a common dress code name, it simply means that it is that dress code with a twist. So, it is possibly formal attire in an island style--lighter fabrics and colorful.
A great example of this is 'Texas Formal'. This could mean a tux with boots. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
