     HELP!!!

Hi,

My boyfriends' brother is getting married this Saturday. My boyfriend is the best man; he will be wearing a tux. The wedding is around 4:30 with the reception following after. I purchased a dress from Ann Taylor. It was featured in Glamour magazine and I love it. The problem is, I am wondering if it is A. too dressy, and B. has too much white.

It is a white dress with a black flowered pattern all over. It is strapless, fitted at the top and has a flowy a-line skirt. I would need to wear a cover up for the ceremony.

I want to make a good impression on his family and I am really struggling with what to wear.

ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Wants to Make an Impression,

You would be dressing as one of the guests, not trying to match the formality of your boyfriend's tux. If you consider your dress to be in the same formality of a cocktail dress--the little black dress or its equivalent--then you are fine.

The white won't matter. But, what will matter is if this dress shows off more than others will feel comfortable with seeing. So, be very careful.

Best wishes,
