Help with Wedding Attire for Tomorrow!

Please help! I'm going to a wedding tomorrow but needed to know what I should wear for the ceremony, since it's at 3PM and the reception is at 6PM. I currently have a floor length, Jessica McClintock burgundy embroidered dress that I was planning to wear, but wasn't sure if I should leave that dress for the reception and wear a more simple dress to the ceremony. What should I do?

Dear Attire Dilemma,

I would imagine that the dress would be too formal for both events. But, it is difficult to know without knowing how formal this event is. If the invitation says that it is black tie, then the dress is fine--formal, but fine.

It would be better to wear cocktail attire if you think this will be formal. Wear some sort of cover up, such as a jacket for the ceremony if it is in a church. If you think that it will be less than formal, wear what you think is appropriate to a nice restaurant.

Best wishes,
