     How to state wedding attire?

Hi...my fiance and I would have loved a destination wedding, but it was more important to us that our families were able to be apart of it. Because of that we have chosen a more casual approach. The groom and groomsmen will be wearing colored dress shirts and dress pants, no ties or coats. My fiance and I wish that no one else show up in a suit or fancy attire. We would like to state this on the invitation. What is the correct wording for "summer attire" ex. sundresses, Khakis, button down shirts? Thanks!

Traditionally, unless you are having a very formal wedding (black tie or white tie) it isn't proper to include dress code information on a wedding invitation.

Use your invitation to give the gusts clues: less formal invitation (not engraved) will tell the recipient that the attire should be less formal. The time of day and location can hint at the formality of the event. The earlier in the day the less formal, outdoor weddings are less formal.

ENJOY!
