The wedding is 5pm in July. The reception is immediately after. I'm not sure what to wear since I'm not familiar with wedding etiquette. The invitation does not mention formal or casual. I was wondering if I could wear a black strapless dress that I have. It's not too revealing or clingy other than it being strapless. It's a little below knee length with the front shorter (kneelength) than the back, and gold trimmed, so it's not completely black. I was planning to also wear a ivory colored shawl since the wedding is in a church. Is this appropriate or should I wear something else?
I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks.
