     Lace and Sequins

Please help. I'm going to a friend's 5pm wedding in Iowa this July. Attire is "semi-formal" and it's at a Lutheran church. I picked a sleeveless drk brown cocktail dress to wear w/mid-calf length hem. Q: 1. The dress' solid, matte fabric ends sort of like a strapless and the top is brown point d'esprit lace up to the neck. Is the lace enough coverage or is a shawl needed for the church? 2. Are brown-sequin/brown satin shoes and brown metallic leather clutch too risky? Thanks

Dear Lace and Sequins,

It would be best to wear a cover-up in church. The accessories may be a bit much for this time of day and the formality of the event.

Best wishes,
