I am a bridesmaid in wedding and will be bringing a date. The church is at 2:30 and coctail hour begins at 5 pm. My date will meet me at the reception. Should he wear a suit, or are black slacks with a shirt and tie appropriate?
It depends upon the formality of the event. If cocktail attire is expected, he should wear a suit. However, if 'dressy casual' is expected, he can wear the slacks and shirt with the tie.
