Hi, I have a wedding Oct 8th in NJ. It's a gazebo on the beach. I don't think it's formal. It's at 3:00 pm, reception following at a bar/restaurant. I'm 32, recently lost weight, post 2 kids. I want to look great! It will most likely be warm. I'm struggling because I feel like it's not quite fall yet at the beach and light colors are too summer. What styles do you suggest? Help!
I'm definitely not a style expert. But, I would imagine that the dress code would be 'dressy casual'. So, you would wear what you would to a nice restaurant. If a nice pant suit looks awesome, that would be a good choice too.
I really don't think you need worry about colors. The wedding is during the day, on the beach, and it will be warm. Just wear a color that looks good on you.
Choose something that makes you feel and look awesome.
Congrats on the recent weight loss...now it's time to show it off. I would suggest to wear a dressy casual dress that flaunts your new figure. I reccommend a jersey knit dress...it will look dressy enough (dressy, just not formal) and that material fits great! Just pick a style that will compliment your body and that you feel beautiful and comfortable in.
It is hard to pick a color when you are in between seasons and the weather is so nice. I would suggest to get a dress in a color like kelly green, purple, even chocolate brown. All of these colors are trendy and great for a wedding in October. They aren't too dark which is good for a beach wedding and yet they are dark enough to be appropriate for October. I know what you are thinking...chocolate brown is dark...well, it also happens to be one of the most popular colors this season so it is fine to wear it to a beach wedding.
