     Mid-October evening wedding

I'm going to a 6pm wedding in mid-October with the guy that I'm seeing. He is in the wedding and it is his father's wedding. Since it's his father's second marriage I figured that this was more of a casual event however, I'm not a dress or skirt girl. Would black dress pants and a dressy top be okay?

Dear Wedding Guest,

It isn't a good idea to assume that just because this is a second wedding it will be casual. It just may be more formal, especially since it is being held at 6 pm. It is wise to ask your boyfriend what they are wearing. If they are wearing tuxes, you may want to wear 'the little black dress' or its equivalent, which could be a nice pant suit. If they are wearing suits, your outfit should be fine as long as it looks like something you would wear to the nicest of restaurants.

Best wishes,
