     Musician's attire when not specified!

Good Evening,

I am a Parish music director, and I have been selected as organist/conductor for a 10AM wedding in the near future. However, on this particular occasion, no proper attire has been specified, which is most irregular considering that most weddings that I've performed for require formal attire. I typically dress in my best and wear a morning suit (Morning tails, waistcoat, cravat, etc.). I wish to have your opinion as to whether or not this is still appropriate.

Many Thanks,

John

Dear John,

Perhaps it isn't a formal wedding. However, it may be. So, it would be best to ask. If it is not formal, a suit would be fine.

Best wishes,
