I will be attending a wedding in NYC on the labour day weekend. It starts at 5:00 -church ceremony then we will be going to the dinner & reception. My husband has a custom made suit but it is a light color tan/light beige - is this appropriate or should he wear his black suit? I like the light beige suit more but he can wear the black if he should. Any tips?
The black suit will look more formal. However, the color has more to do with the weather these days. So, if the weather is warm, the lighter color suit would be fine.
The black is nice though and is appropriate for the occasion.
As Rebecca said, he can wear the tan suit since the weather has been so hot and it is still summer. So a light suit is appropriate due to the season and weather. However, NY weddings tend to be very formal. In this case I would suggest the safe suit and go with the black one. Black is a traditional and classic look. You can't go wrong with a black suit.
